Lunch with Buffett is a good return on investment

Chinese businessman and investment fund manager Zhao Danyang paid close to US$2.1 millions for a lunch with Buffett. It seems expensive at first but after return back to China, stock prices of his company, WuMart become worth around US$16 millions more. Wumart is a retailing giant in China which Zhao Danyang firmly believes that it will one day be the Wal-Mart of China.

I admired his aspirations but apparently Warren Buffett did not really believe that it will since he did not invest a single cent into the company at the end of the day. Well, it may be that he seldom invests much outside United States.

Buffett has a habit of auctioning a lunch every year, with the proceeds going to Charity. This is an economical way for other types of celebrities who are not investing legends to do charities work also.

How about that for rock stars, Hollywood stars and even better, since Paris Hilton always surprises us with some steaming videos, why not she auction one night of herself?

Anyway, lunch with Warren Buffet is a good way to increase the value of one’s share holdings in a public listed company. If you are the founder and holds substantial shares, consider having a lunch with Buffett, then sells some shares when the stock prices rise above its intrinsic value (determine by yourself), after the publicity of the millions dollars lunch is off, can buy back at a lower price than the selling price.
